Job Description: 

MMR Power 5 Engineering is seeking Electrical Engineer - Power Systems candidates to support the design and analysis of power systems in utility transmission/ distribution or industrial projects. The responsibilities would include, but not limited to, the following: 

  • Develop one-line diagrams, schematics, protective relay documentation, grounding plans, physical equipment layouts, and supporting calculations for systems ranging from industrial distribution up to high-voltage substations.
  • Perform work in accordance with NESC, NEC, IEEE, ANSI, NFPA 70E, and applicable utility or facility standards.
  • Support construction activities, RFIs, retrofits, and startup efforts while coordinating with clients, contractors, and internal engineering teams.

Required Skills and Qualifications: 

  • Candidates with backgrounds in utility transmission / distribution or industrial power distribution will be considered.
  • BSEE or equivalent engineering degree
  • 3+ years of experience in either utility power systems or industrial power systems
  • Experience with medium- or high-voltage systems (industrial up to 34.5 kV; utility up to 500 kV)
  • Working knowledge of NESC, NEC, IEEE, ANSI, and/or NFPA 70E
  • Ability to develop and review one-lines, schematics, relay drawings, grounding layouts, and equipment arrangements
  • Familiarity with protective relaying, MCCs, SWGR, substation components, and utility equipment
  • Experience supporting construction, RFIs, retrofits, or startup activities
  • Proficiency with AutoCAD or similar design software preferred
  • Familiarity with power system modeling software (ETAP, SKM, Easypower, CAPE, etc.) preferred
