Job Description:
MMR is seeking Electrical Estimator candidates. The responsibilities would include, but not limited to, the following:
- Review proposal specifications, customer drawings, and attend pre-bid meetings to understand scope of work and required contents of estimate.
- Perform material quantity take-off from customer documents, compile project anticipated indirect costs.
- Evaluate areas for potential value engineering cost savings.
- Be comfortable soliciting RFQ documents to potential subcontractors supporting main scope of work.
- Ensure all working documents are maintained in centralized location to ensure latest project file at all times.
- Develop labor productivity and (installation unit costs per NECA standard) based on projected site conditions and historical data.
- Prepare detailed listing of material and equipment items for the estimate and to obtain quotes.
- Responsible for the timely completion of estimates.
- Draft scope/proposal letters for bid and negotiated projects.
- Upon award, meet with the site Project Management team to ensure fluid handover process.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Ability to read and understand electrical drawing packages, specifications or engineering design drawings
- Experience in electrical and instrumentation construction preferred
- Experience in commercial / industrial construction is preferred
- Must have knowledge in estimating, scheduling, and purchasing
- Experience with Primavera P6 preferred
- Ability to read and understand a CPM schedule and identify critical paths
- Work under pressure and adapt to changing requirements with a positive attitude
- BS in Construction Management or related field experience
- At least 3-5 years relevant work experience
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong organizational and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently, prioritize, organize, problem solve, and exercise good judgement with minimal supervision
- Self-motivated, proactive and an effective team player with attention to detail is a must
- Proficient in using a computer and Microsoft Office (, Outlook, Word, Excel, etc.)
- Willingness to work flexible, varying hours, including evenings and some weekends as needed
- Regular and reliable attendance at work
